What is BS IEC 62715‑6‑2 - Environmental testing methods for flexible display devices about?
BS IEC 62715‑6‑2 is an international standard that discusses environmental testing methods for flexible display devices.
BS IEC 62715‑6‑2 is one of the parts in the series that specifies testing methods for evaluating the environmental endurance of flexible display panels and modules for use, storage, and transport under an assumed usage environment.
BS IEC 62715‑6‑2 is applicable to flexible display panels and modules such as liquid crystal display devices (LCDs), electric paper display devices (EPDs), and organic light-emitting diode display devices (OLEDs). BS IEC 62715‑6‑2 will also be suitable for flexible panels or modules with the mechanical operation.
Who is BS IEC 62715‑6‑2 - Environmental testing methods for flexible display devices for?
BS IEC 62715‑6‑2 on flexible display devices is useful for:
- Manufacturers of electronic display devices
- Manufacturers and suppliers of flexible display devices
- Product design engineers
- Quality control and testing agencies
Why should you use BS IEC 62715‑6‑2 - Environmental testing methods for flexible display devices?
Flexible display devices are visual output surfaces that are designed to withstand being folded, bent, and twisted.
BS IEC 62715-6-2 recommended cyclic bending tests, temperature and humidity tests, that help determine the endurance and durability of the display devices. It determines the ability of the flexible display panel and module to withstand either rapid change of temperature or specific change rate of temperature while the flexible display module is turned off.
If you are a manufacturer, BS IEC 62715‑6‑2 can demonstrate the performance and robustness of your display devices for its intended use and provide indications on whether your products are fit for purpose. As a result, risks of deformation, poor optical performance and tensile strength, and overall product failure can be minimized.
Thus, if you wish to manufacture durable and high performing flexible display devices, BS IEC 62715‑6‑2 can be your guide.
