What is BS IEC 62899‑303‑1-Mechanical dimensions for roll-to-roll printing about?
BS IEC 62899‑303‑1 is an international standard that discusses printed electronics.
BS IEC 62899‑303‑1 is the 303rd part of the multi-series standard that defines standard mechanical dimensions (especially related to the web size) of equipment for printed electronics.
BS IEC 62899‑303‑1 covers web-based printing equipment, but it can be used for sheet-based products
Who is BS IEC 62899‑303‑1-Mechanical dimensions for roll-to-roll printing for?
BS IEC 62899‑303‑1 on printed electronics is relevant to:
- Printed electronics industry
- Manufacturers of printing equipment
- Manufacturers of printed electronics such as inkjets
- Manufacturers of printed circuits and boards
- Product design engineers
- Electronic engineers
Why should you use BS IEC 62899‑303‑1- Mechanical dimensions for roll-to-roll printing?
Printed electronics technologies have recently emerged from the trial stage to the actual commercialization of products based upon these technologies.
In order to develop these technologies on an industrial scale, it is important to have industrial scale equipment to produce a big number of products. However, unlike other electronic products, this emerging printed electronics technology does not have any standard for the mechanical dimensions of the final product or devices. By having a standard for input and output, printing equipment could have a standard mechanical dimension. In this regard, BS IEC 62899‑303‑1 serves to avoid the complication of developing printing equipment to support unknown input or output size.
BS IEC 62899‑303‑1 lays out mechanical dimensions and provides examples of the specifications of the printing equipment. With best industry guidance on alignment mark and trigger mark provided in BS IEC 62899‑303‑1, you can ensure that the roll-to-roll process of printed electronic equipment is well executed and meets your electronic engineering needs.
