What is BS IEC 62906‑5‑3 about?
BS IEC 62906‑5 discusses laser display devices. BS IEC 62906‑5‑3 specifies the standard measurement conditions and measuring methods for determining the parameters of image quality for full-frame laser projection displays integrating the projection devices and screens. The front and rear projection screens are included in BS IEC 62906‑5‑3.
Note: Other display devices, such as raster-scanned (flying spot) projection devices, are not included.
Who is BS IEC 62906‑5‑3 for?
BS IEC 62906‑5‑3 on laser display devices is useful for:
- Manufacturers of electronic devices such as televisions and projectors
- Suppliers/retailers of laser display devices
- Theatre owners
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use BS IEC 62906‑5‑3?
Laser displays are widely used in various electronic devices. They are popular among manufacturers and consumers as a specification for an electronic device. Although laser display devices are efficient, they have their limitations and the consumer must be made aware of these limitations.
BS IEC 62906‑5‑3 helps you to recreate actual operation conditions of laser display devices where their display capacities can be measured. BS IEC 62906‑5‑3 informs you about two test patterns:
- Full-Screen patterns
- Checkerboard patterns
BS IEC 62906‑5‑3 helps you to evaluate luminance uniformity, contrast ratio uniformity, viewing direction, chromaticity uniformity and image resolution. These test methods help you identify flaws in laser display devices and determine their clarity levels
