What is BS IEC 63240‑1 about?
BS IEC 63240 discusses active assisted living (AAL) reference architecture and architecture model. BS IEC 63240‑1 defines concepts and introduces terminology for Active assisted living (AAL) reference architecture and architecture model. BS IEC 63240‑1 provides generic rules for designers of AAL systems and services with the aim to facilitate systems design and enable interoperability between components.
BS IEC 63240‑1 identifies safety, security, privacy, and other requirements for AAL systems such as usability, accessibility, and trustworthiness (reliability, resilience).
Who is BS IEC 63240‑1 for?
BS IEC 63240‑1 on AAL reference architecture and architecture model is useful for:
- Engineers and developers for AAL reference architecture and architecture model
- Test centers for AAL reference architecture and architecture model
- Regulatory authorities
Why should you use BS IEC 63240‑1?
AAL device material element or assembly of such elements intended to perform a required function used in an AAL service (IEV 871-01-04). AAL application and services program or application that interacts with the AAL users or within the network infrastructure to transmit or exchange data and information in the network.
BS IEC 63240-1 guideline provides requirements for AAL reference architecture, Security requirements in the context of AAL, Privacy requirements, Security requirements, Use of AI for cyber threats, and AAL privacy risk examples. BS IEC 63240‑1 also provides guidance on how to incorporate requirements and additional requirements such as security, privacy, and trustworthiness are introduced and considered. This ensures usability and accessibility from the earliest stages of design and improves the flow of operation.
