What is BS IEC 63240‑2 about?
BS IEC 63240 discusses active assisted living (AAL) reference architecture and architecture model. BS IEC 63240-2 defines concepts and introduces terminology for active assisted living (AAL) reference architecture and architecture model. IEC 63240-1 provides generic rules for designers of AAL systems and services with the aim to facilitate systems design and enable interoperability between components.
BS IEC 63240-2 provides a framework to analyze use cases on a common view and terminology, which is a foundation for communication to discuss the interoperability of the components of the AAL system. BS IEC 63240‑2 allows for the mapping of defined AAL use cases and supports the identification of interoperability issues and gap analysis of the standards.
Who is BS IEC 63240‑2 for?
BS IEC 63240‑2 on AAL reference architecture and architecture model is useful for:
- Developers and engineers of AAL reference architecture and architecture model
- Test centers for AAL architecture model
- Regulatory authorities
Why should you use BS IEC 63240‑2?
The instrumental activity of daily living (IADL) is a human activity that involves physical/social/cognitive skills related to independent living in addition to ADL. IADL assistance is help with instrumental activities of daily living.
BS IEC 63240-2 guideline provides information on the relationship between IoT and AAL, development of AAL architecture model, and description of AAL architecture model. This ensures usability and accessibility from the earliest stages of design and improves the flow of operation for AAL reference architecture and architecture model.
