What is ISO 10767-1 – Source flow ripple and source impedance of pumps about?
ISO 10767-1 establishes a test procedure for measuring the source flow ripple and source impedance of positive-displacement hydraulic pumps.
ISO 10767-1 is applicable to all types of positive displacement pumps operating under steady-state conditions, irrespective of size, provided that the pumping frequency is in the range from 50 Hz to 400Hz.
Who is ISO 10767-1 - Source flow ripple and source impedance of pumps for?
ISO 10767-1 on source flow ripple and source impedance of pumps is useful for:
- Manufacturers of pumps and motors
- Manufacturers of fluid equipment and components
- Power and hydraulic transmission systems
- Mechanical engineers
- Agricultural and construction machine manufacturers
Why should you use ISO 10767-1- Source flow ripple and source impedance of pumps?
Pressure pulsations generated by hydraulic pumps are a major source of noise in the off-highway machinery utilizing hydraulic systems.
ISO 10767-1 specifies a procedure that covers a frequency range and pressure range that have been found to cause many circuits to emit airborne noise which presents a major difficulty in the design of hydraulic fluid power systems.
ISO 10767-1 allows the design of low noise fluid power systems to be realized by establishing a uniform procedure for measuring and reporting the source flow ripple and the source impedance characteristics of hydraulic fluid power pumps.
ISO 10767-1 specifies a calculation that is made for blocked acoustic pressure ripple as an example of the pressure ripple.
As a result, the measured source flow ripple can ultimately be used to compare and rank potential fluid-borne noise among pumps from different suppliers during the early design phase.
With ISO 10767-1 you can thus determine hydraulic pump pressure pulsation strength.
