What is ISO 11003-1- Shear behaviour of structural adhesives about?
ISO 11003-1 is an international standard used for adhesives that specifies the test methods for determining the shear behaviour of structural adhesives.
ISO 11003-1 is the first part of adhesives in multi-series.
ISO 11003-1 specifies a shear test for the characterization of adhesives in a bond. The shear stress/strain properties of the adhesive (including the shear modulus) are useful for advanced design work, such as in finite element analysis methods.
Who is ISO 11003-1 - Shear behaviour of structural adhesives for?
ISO 11003-1 on Adhesives is useful for:
- Manufacturers of auto motive parts
- Aerospace
- Manufacturers of electronics
- Construction building
- Hospitals
Why should you use ISO 11003-1 - Shear behaviour of structural adhesives?
Adhesives are substances that can be used to hold, fasten, or bond two or more substrates together.
ISO 11003-1 helps in adapting the tensile-testing machine which is used in measuring the errors that take place in torque. The deformation of the adhesive is possible by measuring the displacement of the two adherends relative to each other. The dimensions of specimens are mentioned in ISO 11003-1 which is useful in constructing the specimens while performing the tests. The temperature and shear rate of specimens are measured that ensures the sustainability of structural adhesives in different temperature conditions.
ISO 11003-1 specifies the test procedure and test methods helps in conducting tests using butt-bonded hollow cylinders. These test methods are useful in characterizing adhesives in an annular bond between two hollow cylinders that help in measuring the failure joints. ISO 110031 helps in determining the shear behaviour of adhesives that are useful in designing and analysing these structural adhesives.
