What is ISO 1170 -Calculation of analyses to different bases about?
ISO 1170 gives equations that allow analytical data relating to coal and coke to be expressed on the various bases in common use.
Consideration is given to corrections that can be applied to certain determined values for coal prior to their calculation to other bases.
Who is ISO 1170 -Calculation of analyses to different bases for?
ISO 1170 on the calculation of analyses is relevant to:
- Chemical engineers and biogeochemical engineers
- Coal and coke industries
- Steel industries
- Paper industries
- Coke oven manufacturing industries
- Metallurgical engineers
- Producers of hot metals
Why should you use ISO 1170-Calculation of analyses to different bases?
Many industries use coal and coal by-products. The concrete and paper industries burn enormous amounts of coal to produce heat.
ISO 1170 assists the user with the analysis of coal. ISO 1170 specifies the determination carried out on an air-dried test sample.
Overall, ISO 1170 is helpful as it helps in determining the coal analysis through air-dried test method.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS ISO 1170:2020 supersedes BS ISO 1170:2013, which is withdrawn.
