What is ISO 11745 - Qualification test for brazing of metallic components about?
ISO 11745 specifies a qualification test for brazers engaged in manual brazing of parts and brazing operators in aerospace construction.
ISO 11745 provides the test methods for qualification tests for brazers and brazing operators of metallic components
Note 1: Success in the test is an essential precondition for the qualification of brazers and brazing operators in new production and repair work in aerospace. However, brazing equipment operators need not be qualified according to BS ISO 11745.
Note 2: BS ISO 11745 does not apply to general brazing applications covered by ISO 13585
Who is ISO 11745 - Qualification test for brazing of metallic components for?
ISO 11745 on brazing of metallic components is useful for:
- Aerospace industry
- Aircraft component manufacturers and suppliers
- Organizations involved in air transport engineering
- Aeronautical engineers
- Product designers
- Quality control and testing personnel
Why should you use ISO 11745 - Qualification test for brazing of metallic components?
The application of ISO 11745 ensures you that a qualification test can be carried out in accordance with a standard test specification on standard test pieces under standard conditions. A brazer or brazing operator qualification test properly passed in accordance with ISO 11745 ensures you that the brazer or brazing operator concerned has proved possession of at least the minimum degree of manual skills and technical knowledge demanded by the state of the art.
Thus, compliance to ISO 11745 can help demonstrate the reliability and performance of brazing processes for metallic components, contributing to the safety and operational efficiency of aircrafts. If you are a brazer or brazing operator, ISO 11745 can thus verify whether your products and processes are fit for purpose.
