What is ISO 11901-5 about?
ISO 11901-5 specifies safety requirements for gas springs in accordance with ISO 11901-1, ISO 11901-3 and ISO 11901-4 intended for use in press tool and their correct installation instructions.
ISO 11901-5 is developed to align with the ISO standard with the most commonly used gas springs safety standard and to give recommendations about instructions for use.
Who is ISO 11901-5 for?
ISO 11901-5 on safety instructions for gas springs is applicable to:
- Companies involved in manufacturing and distribution of gas springs
- Manufacturers of pressing machinery (e.g. – hydraulics, excavator etc.)
- Suppliers, importers and dealers of gas springs
Why should you use ISO 11901-5?
Many manufacturing industries employ gas springs, including automotive and aerospace, and press tooling. Gas springs are lifting mechanisms that are used to support and manoeuvre heavy items and other external forces.
ISO 11901-5 provides you with extensive guidelines on operating conditions and gives you detailed safety protection measures that include uncontrolled return stroke safety protection, over stroke safety protection, overpressure safety protection. This can help you to enhance the durability of gas springs along with the safety and protection of your tools and machinery.
ISO 11901-5 ensures that the safety of your operations is in accordance with industry standards.
