What is ISO 11973 - Heat-resistant cast steels and alloys about?
ISO 11973 is an international standard on cast steels and alloys that discusses the requirements for manufacturing high-quality heat-resistant cast steels and alloys.
ISO 11973 specifies the chemical composition and mechanical properties of cast steels and alloys for heat-resistant service.
Who is ISO 11973 - Heat-resistant cast steels and alloys for?
ISO 11973 on cast steels and alloys is relevant to:
- Manufacturer of heat-resistant cast steels and alloys
- Metallurgist
- Mechanical engineer
Why should you use ISO 11973 - Heat-resistant cast steels and alloys?
Heat-resistant cast steels and alloys don't melt or corrode during high-end industrial operations involving high temperatures. They have the capability of performing in conditions above 1200°F.
ISO 11973 provides guidance on heat treatment, chemical composition, mechanical properties, maximum use temperature.
ISO 11973 exemplifies the required chemical composition and mechanical properties that help you achieve precision in terms of product functionality and specification.
With obedience and compliance to ISO 11973, you can efficiently manufacture high-quality heat-resistant cast steels and alloy. ISO 11973 provides you with comprehensive information useful throughout the process of production.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS ISO 11973:2015 cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 11973:1999), which has been technically revised with the following changes:
- Clause 8 on supplementary requirements is revised
- Table 1 composition limits modified — various grades
- Tables 1 and 2 — grade number added
- Annex A ( UNS cast grades similar1) to ISO cast grades) added
