What is ISO 12165 - Injection moulding terms and symbols about?
Die casting is a method of casting metal by using intense force. The raw material used in this process is metal and it is melted and forced into a steel mould. Once the material has hardened, it is cast out from the machine. ISO 12165 specifies the terms generally in use for components of compression and injection moulds and diecasting dies. The function of these components is shown in Figure 1 to Figure 30.
ISO 12165 introduces coherent terms in professional terminology, particularly with regard to the use in CAD (Computer Aided Drafting). Various symbols are specified for simplified representation on technical drawings.
Who is ISO 12165 - Injection moulding terms and symbols for?
ISO 12165 on Injection moulding terms and symbols is useful for:
- Quality control personnel
- The automotive industry
- Hardware manufacturers
- Plastic manufacturers
Why should you use ISO 12165 - Injection moulding terms and symbols?
ISO 12165 explains the nomenclature for components and particular parts for diecasting. The negative cavity space where a molten plastic resin is injected to make a part is referred to as tooling, often known as a "mould." Tooling is the cornerstone of the plastic injection moulding process, and it is required to produce both high volumes and high-quality products. There are some technical differences between die casting and injection moulding, the main distinction is that die casting employs a metal as the raw material, usually, an aluminium alloy, whereas injection moulding uses plastic or polymers. Die casting is a method of casting metal by using intense force. The raw material used in this process is metal and it is melted and forced into a steel mould. Once the material has hardened, it is cast out from the machine.
ISO 12165 guides you with crucial safety communication tools because they help to identify various hazards that may exist at a facility or in the workplace. ISO 12165 provide workers with the necessary knowledge and safety guidelines to remind them to keep an eye out for those hazards. Quality assurance specialists want a quick reference guide to quality words, acronyms, key persons.
