What is ISO 12614‑12 about?
ISO 12614‑12 is the part 12 of the multi series standard that specifies tests and requirements for the rigid fuel line in copper and its alloys, a liquefied natural gas fuel system component intended for use on the types of motor vehicles defined in ISO 3833.
ISO 12614‑12 is based upon a working pressure for natural gas as a fuel of 1,6 MPa (16 bar1)). Other working pressures can be accommodated by adjusting the pressure by the appropriate factor (ratio). For example, a 2 MPa (20 bar) working pressure system will require pressures to be multiplied by 1,25.
NOTE-
ISO 12614‑12 is not applicable to the following:
- Fuel containers
- Stationary gas engines
- Container mounting hardware
- Electronic fuel management
- Refuelling receptacles
Who is ISO 12614‑12 for?
ISO 12614‑12 on rigid fuel line in copper and its alloys for liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel system components is applicable to:
- Manufacturers of LNG vehicles
- Manufacturers of rigid fuel line in copper and its alloys
- Vehicle regulatory authorities
- Vehicle repair shops
Why should you use ISO 12614‑12?
Good quality fuel system components are very important for the efficient functioning of an LNG vehicle. ISO 12614‑12 gives you guidelines for the construction of rigid fuel line in copper and its alloys these guidelines include the materials to be used and the method for assembly of those materials. This will help you manufacture durable fuel system components.
ISO 12614‑12 provides marking instructions on the rigid fuel line in copper and its alloys, these markings will help in identifying and tracing rigid fuel line copper and its alloys.
ISO 12614‑12 provides tests to check the hydraulic strength and bending tolerance of the rigid fuel line copper and its alloys. When performed these tests will help you in measuring the strength of the rigid fuel line copper and its alloys.
What’s changed since the last update?
