What is ISO 12614‑17 about?
ISO 12614‑17 is part 17 of the multi-series standard on natural gas detector which is a liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel system component.
ISO 12614‑17 specifies tests and requirements for the natural gas detector, a liquefied natural gas fuel system component intended for use on the types of motor vehicles defined in ISO 3833
NOTE-
ISO 12614‑17 is not applicable to the following:
- Fuel containers
- Stationary gas engines
- Container mounting hardware
- Electronic fuel management
- Refuelling receptacles
Who is ISO 12614‑17 for?
ISO 12614‑17 on the natural gas detector is applicable to:
- Manufacturers of LNG vehicles
- Manufacturers of natural gas detector
- Vehicle regulatory authorities
- Vehicle repair shops
Why should you use ISO 12614‑17?
ISO 12614‑17 provides guidelines for the construction of natural gas detector. They include the materials to be used and the method for assembly of those materials. This will help you to manufacture durable fuel system components.
ISO 12614‑17 provides marking instructions on natural gas detector. The markings will help in identifying and tracing natural gas detector.
ISO 12614‑17 provides tests to check the insulation resistance and minimum signalling voltage. You can measure the quality of the natural gas detector with the specified tests.
What’s changed since the last update?
