What is ISO 12614‑9 about?
ISO 12614‑9 is part nine of the multi-series standard that specifies tests and requirements for the gas-tight housing and ventilation hose, a liquefied natural gas fuel system component intended for use on the types of motor vehicles defined in ISO 3833.
ISO 12614‑9 is applicable to vehicles using natural gas in accordance with ISO 15403‑1 (mono-fuel, bi-fuel, or dual-fuel applications).
NOTE-
ISO 12614‑9 is not applicable to the following:
- Fuel containers
- Stationary gas engines
- Container mounting hardware
- Electronic fuel management
- Refuelling receptacles
Who is ISO 12614‑9 for?
ISO 12614‑9 on gas-tight housing and ventilation hose is applicable to:
- Manufacturers of LNG vehicles
- Manufacturers of gas-tight housing and ventilation hose
- Vehicle regulatory authorities
- Vehicle repair shops
Why should you use ISO 12614‑9 for?
Good quality fuel system components are very important for the efficient functioning of an LNG vehicle. ISO 12614‑9 specifies the guidelines for the construction of gas-tight housing and ventilation hose. These guidelines include the materials to be used and the method for assembly of those materials. This will help you manufacture durable fuel system components.
ISO 12614‑9 provides marking instructions on gas-tight housing and ventilation hose. These markings will help in identifying and tracing gas-tight housing and ventilation hose.
ISO 12614‑9 provides tests to check the leakage and pull-off of gas-tight housing and ventilation hose. Measure the strength of the gas-tight housing and ventilation hose with these tests.
