What is ISO 13315-8 about?
ISO 13315-8 is the eight-part of multiple series that provides a general principle, procedures and requirements for environmental labels and declarations for concrete and concrete structures. It is used for the environmental management for concrete and concrete structures, constituents, reinforcement, concrete, concrete products, and concrete structures.
ISO 13315-8 specifies PCR (Product Category Rules). PCR are a set of specific rules, for requirements and guidelines which are useful in developing environmental declarations for one or more product categories.
Who is ISO 13315-8 for?
ISO 13315-8 on environmental labels and declarations is useful for:
- Civil engineers
- Public sector for the environmental management system of concrete and concrete structures
- Construction industry
- Manufactures and producers of concrete products
- Transport sector
- Technical system of environmental declarations to concrete structures
- Designers of concrete and concrete structures
- Government organisations, NGOs and private companies involved in environmental declarations of concrete products
Why should you use ISO 13315-8?
ISO 13315-8 specifies product environmental criteria which helps in the recycling of concrete aggregates, ready-mixed concrete, and structure with reinforced concrete which meets the criteria for the quality standard and reflects their environmental aspects and impacts.
ISO 13315-8 facilitate communication of the environmental information involved with the production of concrete constituents, production of concrete and concrete products, execution of concrete structures, use of concrete structures including operation, maintenance and remedial activities, and end-of-life activities including demolition, reuse/recycling and final disposal.
ISO 13315-8 enables producers of concrete constituents, concrete, and concrete products to reduce the environmental impact of their operations and products. It allows the designers or constructors to reduce the environmental impact of concrete structures.
ISO 13315-8 provides technical information for demolition work, waste generation, treatment, and final disposal which is useful for reducing the environmental footprint.
