What is ISO 13583-1 - Centrifugally cast steel and alloy products about?
ISO 13583-1 is a series of international standards on centrifugally cast steel and alloy that discusses the best procedures and test methods to test the quality of centrifugally cast steel and alloy products.
ISO 13583-1 specifies the requirements for horizontal and vertical centrifugally cast steel and alloy products to be used in the following applications:
- Heat-resisting
- Corrosion resisting
- General engineering
Who is ISO 13583-1 - Centrifugally cast steel and alloy products for?
ISO 13583-1 on centrifugally cast steel and alloy products is relevant to:
- Manufacturer of centrifugally cast steel and alloy products
- Mechanical engineer
Why should you use ISO 13583-1 - Centrifugally cast steel and alloy products?
The centrifugal casting method is the method to produce pipes by pouring molten metal into a rapidly spinning cylindrical mold in which centrifugal force from the rotation exerts pressure on the molten metal.
ISO 13583-1 provides guidance on materials, mechanical tests, surface finish requirements, minimum sound wall (MSW) thickness and soundness, dimensional and shape tolerances, inspection procedures.
As a user of ISO 13583-1, you can be ensured of mechanical tests which help in testing the quality of centrifugally cast steel and alloy products. ISO 13583-1 exemplifies the required dimensional and shape tolerances that help you achieve precision in terms of product functionality and specification. With obedience and compliance to ISO 13583-1, you can efficiently manufacture high-quality centrifugally cast steel and alloy products. With ISO 13583-1 you can be ensured that the products consistently meet and exceed quality assurance targets.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS ISO 13583-1:2015 supersedes BS ISO 13583-1:2000 which is withdrawn.
BS ISO 13583-1:2015 has been technically revised with the following changes:
- In Clause 2, the normative references were replaced with superseding International Standards
- The former 8.2 having been deleted, the original subclause 8.3 was renumbered 8.2
- 10.1.1 and 10.1.2 on inspection procedures and standards of acceptance was revised;
