What is ISO 13583-2 - Centrifugally cast steel about?
ISO 13583 is a series of international standards on centrifugally cast steel and alloy products that discusses the best procedures and specifications required for manufacturing high-quality centrifugally cast steel and alloy products. ISO 13583-2 is the second part of this series. ISO 13583-2 specifies cast steel and nickel alloy grades for elevated temperature service products manufactured by centrifugal casting.
Who is ISO 13583-2 - Centrifugally cast steel for?
ISO 13583-2 on centrifugally cast steel and alloy products is relevant to:
- Manufacturer of centrifugally cast steel and alloy products
Why should you use ISO 13583-2 - Centrifugally cast steel?
The centrifugal casting method is the method to produce pipes by pouring molten metal into a rapidly spinning cylindrical mold in which centrifugal force from the rotation exerts pressure on the molten metal.
ISO 13583-2 provide guidance on general technical delivery conditions, heat treatment, chemical composition, mechanical properties, supplementary requirements
ISO 13583-2 exemplifies the required chemical composition, mechanical properties that help you achieve precision in terms of product functionality and specification.
As a user of ISO 13583-2, you can be ensured of grades of cast steel and nickel alloy for elevated temperature service. With obedience and compliance to ISO 13583-2, you can efficiently manufacture high-quality centrifugally cast steel and alloy products. With ISO 13583-2 you can be ensured that the products consistently meet and exceed quality assurance targets
What’s changed since the last update?
BS ISO 13583-2:2015 supersedes BS ISO 13583-2:2003 which is withdrawn
This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 13583-2:2003), which has been technically revised with the following changes:
- Clause 2, standard references added where appropriate
- Table 1, composition limits modified for various grades
- Annex C is added.
