What is ISO 13767 about?
ISO 13767 discusses standards for welded steel bollards used for mooring and towing purposes.
ISO 13767 specifies the types, nominal sizes, dimensions, and materials, as well as construction, manufacturing, and marking requirements, for shipside roller fairleads installed to lead the mooring rope of a ship.
Who is ISO 13767 for?
ISO 13767 on for shipside roller fairleads is applicable for:
- Marine industries
- Manufacturers of roller fairleads
- Shipbuilding and naval products manufacturers
- Vessel manufacturers
- Design engineers for roller fairleads
Why should you use ISO 13767?
The shipside roller fairlead is a type of ship’s mooring fitting installed on board to lead the mooring rope from the ship’s inboard to outboard. The guidelines provided in ISO 13767 can help you with the appropriate selection based on dimensions, type, size, and materials for roller fairleads, thus meeting normal mooring and towing requirements.
ISO 13767 provides guidelines about inspecting surfaces in contact with the ropes that should be free from surface roughness or irregularities to cause damage likely to the ropes by abrasion. ISO 13767 ensures the roller fairleads are coated externally with an anti-corrosion protective finish.
As a manufacturer, you can adopt ISO 13767 to ensure that the roller fairleads for mooring and towing purposes adhere to the specification, imparting high operational efficiency and durability.
With increased stiffness and fairlead strength, you can demonstrate the reliability of your products and build trust in their use throughout the marine supply chain by adhering to ISO 13767.
