What is ISO 14243-5-Durability performance of the patellofemoral joint in surgical implant about?
ISO 14243 discusses the wear of total knee prostheses in implants for surgery. ISO 14243-5 is an international standard that provides durability performance of the patellofemoral joint in surgical implants.
ISO 14243-5 is the fifth part of a multi-part series that outlines the relative angular movement between articulating patellofemoral joint components, the pattern of the applied force, speed testing, duration of testing, and sample configuration. ISO 14243-5 also outlines the test environment to be used for the durability testing of total knee-joint prostheses in wear-testing machines with load control and displacement.
ISO 14243-5 guides for standardizing the performance of the patellofemoral joint.
Who is ISO 14243-5-Durability performance of the patellofemoral joint in surgical implant for?
ISO 14243-5 on durability performance of the patellofemoral joint in surgical implants is useful for:
- Surgical implants manufacturers
- Test centers for surgical implants
- Medical laboratories
- Regulatory authorities
Why should you use ISO 14243-5-Durability performance of the patellofemoral joint in surgical implant?
Patellofemoral joint surgical implants are a partial knee replacement for the patient. This helps the patient restore movement and activity. Patellofemoral joint surgical implants allow people to resume their activities and hobbies before the pain side-lined them.
ISO 14243-5 guidelines assist you with Reagents, materials, test specimens, and samples for the durability performance of the patellofemoral joint. ISO 14243-5 also provides procedures to determine worst-case condition, flexion/extension waveform, body weight, patellofemoral force waveform, location of the flexion/extension axis, patellar translation along the femur, abduction/adduction (axial rotation) waveform, Failure, and damage patterns for checking the durability of the patellofemoral joint. This helps you to assess the durability and performance of the patellofemoral joint properly.
In addition, under ISO 14243-5 the results obtained from test methods are reliable and used for comparing it to other laboratories.
