The product is intended for applications where the presence of oxide or scale or normal surface imperfections disclosed after removal of oxide or scale is not objectionable. ISO 15177 is not suitable for applications where the surface is of prime importance.
ISO 15177 does not cover steel sheet that is subjected to subsequent rolling.
Who is ISO 15177 for?
ISO 15177 on a hot-rolled twin-roll cast steel sheet is relevant to:
- Manufacturer of hot-rolled/twin-roll cast steel sheet
- Mechanical industries
- Automobile industries
- Manufacturer of construction equipment
Why should you use ISO 15177?
Rolling is a metal forming process in which metal is passed through one or more pairs of rolls to reduce the thickness or make it uniform, and/or to impart a desired mechanical property.
ISO 15177 provide information on chemical composition, heat treatment, mechanical properties, test methods and analysis required to manufacture hot-rolled twin-roll cast steel sheet.
As a user of ISO 15177, you can be ensured of all the properties of cast steel sheets. Information provided by ISO 15177 helps the manufacturer to manufacture high-quality hot-rolled twin-roll cast steel sheet which has a long service life and helps them to expand the market reach for the product and build consumer trust and confidence.
