What is ISO 15208 about?
ISO 15208 is one of a series of international standards regarding steel sheets.
ISO 15208 specifies the requirements for steel sheet, in coils and cut length, metallic-coated by the continuous hot-dip zinc-coated twin-roll cast process of commercial quality.
The steel sheet is intended for applications requiring corrosion resistance, formability and paintability.
The steel sheet is produced in a number of grades, coating masses, surface treatments and ordering conditions.
Who is ISO 15208 for?
ISO 15208 on continuous hot-dip zinc-coated twin-roll cast steel sheet of commercial quality is useful for:
- Steel foundries
- Suppliers or dealers of steel sheets
- Metallurgists
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use ISO 15208?
Twin-roll cast steel sheets of commercial qualities have base-metal quality and are intended for general fabricating purposes where the sheet is used in the flat condition, or for bending or moderate forming.
ISO 15208 provides dimensions for the steel sheet to help you regulate the thickness of the sheets. ISO 15208 provides you guidance on provisions for manufacturing to help you meet the minimum production and performance requirements for the steel sheets.
ISO 15208 also provides certain test methods that help you evaluate these performance requirements. If you are a supplier or dealer of these steel sheets ISO 15208 provides you guidance on the information you need to provide to the manufacturers to ensure they manufacture these steel as per your requirements.
Overall, the guidelines of ISO 15208 enable you to meet the minimum production and performance requirements for zinc-coated twin-roll cast steel sheets of commercial quality.
