What is ISO 15211 - Zinc-coated twin-roll cast steel sheets of structural quality and high strength about?
ISO 15211 is one of a series of international standards regarding steel sheets.
ISO 15211 specifies the requirements for steel sheet, in coils and cut length, metallic-coated by the continuous hot-dip zinc-coated twin-roll cast process, of structural and high strength quality.
The product is intended for applications requiring corrosion resistance, and paintability.
The steel sheet is produced in a number of grades, coating masses, surface treatments and ordering conditions.
Who is ISO 15211 - Zinc-coated twin-roll cast steel sheets of structural quality and high strength for?
ISO 15211 on the zinc-coated twin-roll cast steel sheets of structural quality and high strength is useful for:
- Steel foundries
- Suppliers or dealers of steel sheets
- Metallurgists
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use ISO 15211 - Zinc-coated twin-roll cast steel sheets of structural quality and high strength?
continuous hot-dip zinc-coated steel sheets are obtained by hot-dip coating of cold-reduced sheet coils or hot-rolled descaled sheet coils on a continuous zinc-coating line. These sheets are used for heavy industrial purposes, like railways, metalworking and automobiles etc.
ISO 15211 provides dimensions for the steel sheet to help you regulate the thickness of the sheets and ensure they meet those structural and strength requirements. ISO 15211 provides you guidance on provisions for manufacturing to help you meet the minimum production and performance requirements for the steel sheets.
ISO 15211 also provides certain test methods that help you evaluate these performance requirements. If you are a supplier or dealer of these steel sheets ISO 15211 provides you guidance on the information you need to provide to the manufacturers to ensure they manufacture these steel as per your requirements.
Overall, the guidelines of ISO 15211 enable you to meet the minimum production and performance requirements for zinc-coated twin-roll cast steel sheets of structural quality and high strength.
What’s changed since the last update?
