What is ISO 15733 – Tensile Properties of Fine Ceramics about?
ISO 15733 is an International Standard. ISO 15733 specifies the conditions for determination of tensile properties of ceramic matrix composite materials with continuous fibre reinforcement at room temperatures. ISO 15733 applies to all ceramic matrix composites with a continuous fibre reinforcement, unidirectional (1D), bi-directional (2D), and tri-directional (xD, with 2 < x ≤ 3), loaded along one principal axis of reinforcement.
ISO 15733 consists of scope, definitions, references, apparatus, test specimens, procedures and much more.
Note: In most cases, ceramic matrix composites to be used at high temperature in air are coated with an antioxidation coating.
Who is ISO 15733 - Tensile Properties of Fine Ceramics for?
ISO 15733 on tensile Properties of Fine Ceramics is useful for:
- Fine Ceramic Manufacturers, Traders and Suppliers
- Entities involved in Ceramic Research
- Steel Industries
- Manufacturers of Aircrafts
- Electricity Supply and Automobile Industries
- Materials Engineers
Why should you use ISO 15733 - Tensile Properties of Fine Ceramics?
Fine Ceramics have best-in-class thermal, electronic, and mechanical properties. They are lightweight but have a great speed and can withstand high temperatures.
These properties have been useful in Military and Aerospace Applications as well. The critical application of fine ceramics makes it mandatory for them to have tensile properties which can assure maximum safety.
ISO 15733 specifies the conditions for determination of tensile properties of ceramic matrix composite materials with continuous fibre reinforcement at room temperatures. Standardization and compliance with ISO 15733 are the need of the hour to maintain precision, controlled chemical compositions and high performance.
