What is ISO 17179 - Characteristics of automated measuring systems about ?
ISO 17179 specifies the fundamental structure and the most important performance characteristics of automated measuring systems for ammonia (NH3) to be used on stationary source emissions are applied.
The procedures to determine the performance characteristics are also specified. Furthermore, it describes methods and equipment to determine NH3 in flue gases including the sampling system and sample gas conditioning system.
Who is ISO 17179 - Characteristics of automated measuring systems for ?
ISO 17179 on stationary waste emissions is relevant to:
- Product Engineers
- Chemical Engineers
- Manufacturers and industries using furnaces and gas towers
- Researchers and scientists
Why should you use ISO 17179 - Characteristics of automated measuring systems ?
Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) NOx control systems are used for emission control of NOx in flue gas from power generation plants, waste incinerators and others.
ISO 17179 provides methods that allow continuous monitoring with permanently installed measuring systems of NH3 emissions.
ISO 17179 specifies the characteristics to be determined and the performance criteria to be fulfilled by portable automated measuring systems.
Overall, ISO 17179 specifies the procedures for determining and sampling ammonia in flu gas emitted to the atmosphere from ducts and stacks that reduce pollution caused by harmful gases.
