What is ISO 17721‑2 about?
ISO 17721‑2 is the second part of the multi-series standard. specifies test methods for evaluating the antibacterial activity of glazed and unglazed ceramic tile surfaces with incorporated photocatalytic antibacterial agents.
Who is ISO 17721‑2 for?
ISO 17721‑2 on ceramic tiles surface is useful for:
- Manufacturers of ceramic tiles
- Laboratory personnel
Why should you use ISO 17721‑2?
Photocatalytic activity is the process of using light to speed up or activate the chemical reaction in which the technology contributes to eliminating bacteria organisms or virus material on the surface. ISO 17721-2 provides a test procedure using bacterial strains to determine the antibacterial activity of ceramic tile surfaces using photocatalytic antibacterial agents.
ISO 17721‑2 helps in the preparation of the test inoculum to measure the bacteria count on the tile test specimen using the optical microscope and gives the overall calculation of antibacterial activity.
ISO 17721‑2 enables you to manufacture high-quality ceramic tiles with photocatalytic antibacterial agents to get an antibacterial, antiviral and anti-pollution environment that is harmless to health.
