What is ISO 1920‑14 - Testing of concrete about?
ISO 1920-14 discusses making, and curing test specimens for testing concrete. Concrete is used to provide strength, durability, and versatility during the construction of a structure.
ISO 1920‑14 is the 14th part of the ISO 1920 series, that covers the method for determining the setting time of concrete with slump greater than zero, by testing mortar sieved from the concrete mixture. The initial setting time, and the final setting time are the time intervals required for the mortar sieved from the concrete mixture to reach the specified values of penetration resistance after the initial contact of cement, and water.
In ISO 1920‑14, the method can be used for determining the effect of variables such as temperature, type, and content of cement, concrete mix proportions, and admixtures, on the time of setting, and hardening characteristics of concrete. This test method is applicable under controlled laboratory conditions, as well as under field conditions.
Who is ISO 1920‑14 - Testing of concrete for?
ISO 1920‑14 on making, and curing test specimens for testing concrete is helpful for:
- Civil engineers
- Manufacturer of concrete
- Suppliers, and distributors of concrete
- Quality testing of concrete
Why should you use ISO 1920‑14 - Testing of concrete?
The testing of concrete, concrete masonry, and their reinforcement is commonly used by design professionals during structural assessment, and retrofit planning.
ISO 1920‑14 provides you with two types of setting time, which is initial setting time, and final setting time. The initial setting time is the time when the paste starts losing its plasticity. It helps you to require to delay the process of hydration or hardening. The final setting time is the time when the paste completely loses its plasticity. It helps you to determine the facilitates safe removal of scaffolding or form.
ISO 1920‑14 exemplifies the concrete mixtures by resistance to penetration that helps you achieve precision in terms of concrete quality.
