What is ISO 19230 about?
ISO 19230 is an international standard that discusses the sampling of gas for gas analysis. ISO 19230 specifies the general provision and gives the basic definitions of terms relating to sampling for gas analysis, including sampling devices, sampling methods, sampling technical considerations, and sampling safety.
ISO 19230 applies to both direct and indirect sampling of gas in pressure receptacles and pipelines, including pure gases and gas mixtures. Compressed and liquefied gases are both considered.
Note 1: ISO 19230 applies to the sampling of processed gases and does not involve gas treatment processes.
Note 2: The sampling procedures specified under ISO 19230 are not intended for the sampling of special products such as liquefied petroleum gases and gaseous natural gases.
Who is ISO 19230 for?
ISO 19230 on sampling guidelines for gas analysis is applicable in:
- Companies dealing with gas analyzing
- Manufacturing of gas container for analyzing
Why should you use ISO 19230?
Gas analysis is used to determine the composition of natural and industrial gases, which controls the technological processes in metallurgical, chemical, oil and gas industries. The determination of gas composition, impurity concentration and physical properties depend, to a large extent, on the sampling technique.
ISO 19230 provides you with gaseous products which are stored and transported in pressure receptacles in the form of compressed or liquefied gas or through gas pipelines. The sampling methods may differ depending upon the package, composition and delivery methods.
ISO 19230 provides a technical sampling guideline for gas analysis in pressure receptacles and pipelines for analytical purposes, that ensures an efficient determination of gas while analysing.
