What is ISO 2000 about?
ISO 2000 is an international standard for rubber that specifies the guidelines for technically specified rubber (TSR). This specification is useful in the manufacturing of products where the rubber is used.
ISO 2000 specifies guidance on the specification of technically specified rubber (TSR). A grading system is proposed, based on the origin of the natural rubber content and on properties exhibited by the rubber.
ISO 2000 is intended for use by parties involved in the procurement of TSR and is intended to form a basis from which requirements for a particular case may be more closely specified.
Who is ISO 2000 for?
ISO 2000 on Rubber, raw natural is useful for:
- Manufacturer of automotive
- Manufacturer of shoes
- Manufacturer of toys
- Manufacturer of rubber hoses
Why should you use ISO 2000?
Technically specified rubber (TSR) is block rubber made by crashing, cleaning and drying the solid rubber.
ISO 2000 is useful in dividing technically specified rubber (TSR) into three groups according to the raw material to be used in production. The properties of technically specified rubber (TSR) are helpful in grading the structure of technically specified rubber (TSR). This grade structure includes the raw material to be used along with the characteristics of technically specified rubber (TSR). The physical and technical properties which are based on the grade of technically specified rubber (TSR) are mentioned in ISO 2000.
ISO 2000 can be your best guide in manufacturing the products where the rubber is needed. As ISO 2000 specifies the guidelines for technically specified rubber (TSR) and helps in proposing the grading system which is based on natural rubber properties.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS ISO 2000:2020 supersedes BS ISO 2000:2014. BS ISO 2000:2020 includes some technical changes with respect to BS ISO 2000:2014. These include:
- The normative references have been updated in Clause 2 and in Table 2
- In Table 1, for sheet rubber or coagulated bulked field latex, the TSR grade 5S has been deleted
- The requirements for polyethylene film in Clause 8 have been changed to ISO 20299-2.
