What is ISO 20304-1 about?
ISO 20304 discusses water treatment applications by fine bubble technology. ISO 20304-1 outlines a test method to assess the performance of ozone fine bubble water generating systems used for decolorizing water-soluble dye in e.g., wastewater and industrial water.
Decolorization is mainly used for factory wastewater, regeneration, and sewage water. It is also used regularly for sewage treatment facilities, as advanced treatment technology in the dye-house effluent, etc.
Note: ISO 20304-1 does not address the impact of ozone on health and the environment.
Who is ISO 20304-1 for?
ISO 20304-1 on evaluating ozone fine bubble water generating systems is useful for:
- Industries that have a high usage of water
- Water test centers
- Municipal corporations
- Regulatory authorities
Why should you use ISO 20304-1?
Ozone is used to improve water quality that is for the purification and decomposition of hardly decomposable substances and decolorization. The conventional method often uses diffuser tubes. However, it has been found that with ozone fine bubbles, it is possible to use the strong oxidizing power of ozone more efficiently.
ISO 203041 outlines the decolorization test by ozone fine bubble water that includes test environment condition, the configuration of test equipment, raw material gas supply unit, Ozone generator supply unit, Calibration procedure, and Test procedure for evaluating ozone fine bubble water generating systems by the decolorization of methylene blue. This helps in saving water, increasing the efficiency of ozone utilization by 1.6 times, and increases the possibility of cost reduction.
