What is ISO 20360 about?
ISO 20360 is an international standard on brown coals and lignite that discusses methods regarding the determination of properties. ISO 20360 specifies a method of determining the volatile matter of brown coals and lignites by the one furnace method.
The volatile matter is determined as the loss in mass, corrected for moisture, when an analysis sample of brown coals or lignites is heated out of contact with air under specified conditions.
Who is ISO 20360 for?
ISO 20360 on brown coals and lignites is beneficial for:
- Producers of brown coals and lignites
- laboratories
Why should you use ISO 20360?
volatile matter in coal is most commonly water, carbon dioxide, and sulfur dioxide. Volatile matter is directly related to coal rank; as rank increases, volatile matter content decreases.
ISO 20360 provides guidance regarding the apparatus, preparation of the test sample, test procedure, test report of volatile matter of brown coals and lignites
As a user of ISO 20360, you can be ensured of the volatile matter in brown coals and lignites.
ISO 20360 helps the user in improving the quality and volatile matter content of brown coals and lignites which can be beneficial for ignition and combustion processes. The product will have better flame stability and improved carbon burnout, and lower NOx emissions. Overall, with obedience and compliance to ISO 20360, you can achieve greater business efficiency and profitability.
