What is ISO 20480‑4 about?
ISO 20480‑4 is the fourth part of the multi-series of International Standard on ‘Fine bubble technology’.
ISO 20480‑4 specifies the terminology related to dissolved air flotation (DAF) bubble bed and its characteristics in the dissolved air flotation process.
Who is ISO 20480‑4 for?
ISO 20480‑4 on terminology related to dissolved air flotation (DAF) is useful for:
- Microbubble beds manufacturers and suppliers
- Industries that use ultrasound contrast agents
Why should you use ISO 20480‑4?
DAF has been used as an effective alternative to the more conventional separation process of sediments. Through DAF, low-density flocs can be removed using fine bubbles. To increase the treatment capacity, DAF has been developed as bubble beds become thicker by increasing the depth of the flotation basin.
Recently, new theories and techniques were developed for the measurement and evaluation of the bubble bed in a full-scale DAF tank. And hence with the application of ISO 20480‑4, you can minimize confusion for researchers and pioneers by setting the definitions related to bubble bed, before the standards of these measurement and evaluation methods are prepared. As a result, you will be able to impart consistency and avoid misinterpretation in carrying out tasks, thereby enhancing reliability in your products and services.
ISO 20480‑4:2021 contributes to the following six UN Sustainable Development goals:
- Goal 9 on industry, innovation and infrastructure
- Goal 11 on sustainable cities and communities
- Goal 14 on life below water
- Goal 2 on zero hunger
- Goal 6 on clean water and sanitation
