What is ISO 20649-Determination of chromium, selenium in infant formula and adult nutritionals about?
ISO 20649 is an international standard on infant formula and adult nutritionals that discusses the determination of chromium, selenium, and molybdenum using ICP-MS to ensure infant formula and adult nutritionals are safe for consumption.
ISO 20649 specifies the inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) method for the quantitative determination of chromium, selenium and molybdenum in infant formula and adult nutritional formula. The method under ISO 20649 has been validated in an interlaboratory study on seven different matrices.
Who is ISO 20649-Determination of chromium, selenium in infant formula and adult nutritionals for?
ISO 20649 on the determination of chromium, selenium in infant formula and adult nutritionals is useful for:
- Food scientists
- Food technologists
- Food laboratories
- Food health and safety departments
Why should you use ISO 20649-Determination of chromium, selenium in infant formula and adult nutritionals?
Chromium is a trace element found in many kinds of foods, including meats, grain products, fruits, vegetables, nuts, spices, brewer's yeast, beer, and wine. Molybdenum is an essential trace mineral. It is found in foods such as milk, cheese, cereal grains, legumes, nuts, leafy vegetables, and organ meats. Selenium is an essential trace mineral found in soil, water, and some foods.
ISO 20649 provides you with apparatus, sample preparation, preparation of test solution, ICP-MS parameters, calculation, method validation, and much more. The ICP-MS analytical method and procedures provided by ISO 20649 assist in the determination of chromium, selenium, and molybdenum in infant formula and adult nutritionals, improving insulin sensitivity and enhancing protein, carbohydrate, and lipid metabolism.
With obedience and compliance to ISO 20649, you can enhance the efficacy of the infant formula and adult nutritionals and manufacture a standardized product.
