What is ISO 20766‑13 – LPG multivalve fuel systems for vehicles about?
The multivalve is one of the most important mechanical components of the LPG system. ISO 20766 is an International Standard series on road vehicle LPG fuel systems. ISO 20766‑13 specifies general information regarding the multivalve component of LPG fuel, intended for use on motor vehicles.
ISO 20766‑13 is the 13th part of the ISO 20766 multi-series, and specifies general requirements for the multivalve component of LPG fuel, intended for use on the types of motor vehicles as defined in ISO 3833.
ISO 20766‑13 is applicable to vehicles (mono-fuel, bi-fuel, or dual-fuel applications) using gaseous fuels in accordance with ISO 9162.
All references to pressure in ISO 20766‑13 are considered gauge pressures unless otherwise specified.
ISO 20766‑13 applies to devices that have a service pressure in the range of 110 kPa (butane rich at 20 °C) and 840 kPa (propane at 20 °C).
Note 1: ISO 20766‑13 is not applicable to the following:
- Fuel containers
- Stationary gas engines
- Container mounting hardware
- Electronic fuel management
- Refuelling receptacles
Who is ISO 20766‑13 - LPG multivalve fuel system components for vehicles for?
ISO 20766‑13 on LPG multivalve fuel systems for vehicles is useful for:
- Manufacturers of LPG fuelled vehicles
- Product design engineers / innovation teams
- Quality control personnel
- Road vehicle engineers
- Mechanical engineers
- LPG suppliers
- Manufacturers of multivalve components
- Safety and accident prevention authorities
Why should you use ISO 20766‑13 - LPG multivalve fuel systems for vehicles?
The primary feature of the multivalve is that it is equipped with an excess flow valve that, in case of accident or breakage of the outlet pipes, stops the excess outgoing flow of LPG.
ISO 20766-13 also provides general design principles and specifies requirements for instructions and marking.
ISO 20766-13 provides manufacturers with tools to improve their product by outlining tests that protect the device from leakage perform continued operations and ensure hydraulic strength by describing the construction and assembly mechanism of the manual multivalve.
ISO 20766-13 discusses hydraulic strength, high and low-temperature of the LPG flexible multivalve, the tensile strength and elongation of the rubber multivalve, permeability, bending test, impulse test, and gas-tightness.
ISO 20766-13 helps you in the production of manual multivalve components and provides an ideal device for sustaining load holding for motor vehicles.
