What is ISO 20766‑16 - Injectors and fuel rail for LPG vehicles about?
The fuel rail supplies the injectors with fuel with minimal pressure fluctuations between individual injections. ISO 20766 is an International Standard series on road vehicle LPG fuel systems. ISO 20766‑16 specifies general information regarding injectors and gas mixing device/fuel rail component of LPG fuel, intended for use on motor vehicles.
ISO 20766‑16 is the 16th part of the multi-series, and specifies general requirements for the injectors and gas mixing device/fuel rail, a component of liquefied petroleum gas fuel, intended for use on the types of motor vehicles as defined in ISO 3833.
ISO 20766‑16 is applicable to vehicles (mono-fuel, bi-fuel, or dual-fuel applications) using gaseous fuels in accordance with ISO 9162.
All references to pressure in ISO 20766‑16 are considered gauge pressures unless otherwise specified.
ISO 20766‑16 applies to devices that have a service pressure in the range of 110 kPa (butane rich at 20 °C) and 840 kPa (propane at 20 °C), hereinafter referred to in ISO 20766‑16. Other service pressures can be accommodated by adjusting the pressure by the appropriate factor (ratio).
Note: ISO 20766‑16 is not applicable to the following:
- Fuel containers
- Stationary gas engines
- Container mounting hardware
- Electronic fuel management
- Refuelling receptacles
Who is ISO 20766‑16 - Injectors and fuel rail for LPG vehicles for?
ISO 20766‑16 on injectors and fuel rail for LPG vehicles is useful for:
- Manufacturers of LPG fuelled vehicles
- Product design engineers / innovation teams
- Quality control personnel
- Road vehicle engineers
- Mechanical engineers
- LPG suppliers
- Manufacturers of vehicle components
- Safety and accident prevention authorities
Why should you use ISO 20766‑16 - Injectors and fuel rail for LPG vehicles?
Fuel injectors enable the injection of fuel in the intake manifold so that it forms a homogeneous ignition-capable mixture with fresh intake air.
ISO 20766-16 provides you with general design principles and specifies requirements for instructions and marking.
ISO 20766-16 provides manufacturers with tools to improve their product by outlining tests that protect the device from leakage perform continued operations and ensure hydraulic strength by describing the construction and assembly mechanism of the manual Injectors and gas mixing device/fuel rail.
ISO 20766-16 discusses hydraulic strength, high and low-temperature of the LPG flexible-fuel rail injectors, the tensile strength, and elongation of the rubber fuel rail injectors, permeability, bending test, impulse test, and gas-tightness.
Using ISO 20766-16 guidelines, you can achieve sustainable and high-quality fuel rail injectors that function smoothly in adverse conditions. With obedience and compliance to ISO 20766‑16, you can achieve precision in terms of product functionality.
