What is ISO 20912 - Conformance of RFID enabled tyres about?
ISO 20912 is an international standard that covers RIFD enables tyres. ISO 20912 describes the conformance test methods that help in selecting appropriate RFID tags.
ISO 20912 defines the test methods for validating the conformance of RFID enabled tyres with
the minimum reading distance specifications, given in ISO 20909. The two presented methodologies give comparable test results only when the same radio frequency and energy power parameters are used.
Note 1: The tests in ISO 20912 are to be applied exclusively to a standalone RFID enabled tyre unless specified otherwise.
Note 2: ISO 20912 is not intended to set any requirement on mass production quality control, nor on the frequency for testing.
Who is ISO 20912 - Conformance of RFID enabled tyres for?
ISO 20912 on the conformance of RFID enabled tyres is useful for:
- Manufacturers and suppliers of tyres
- Manufacturer of automobile
- Services rendered on vehicles
Why should you use ISO 20912 - Conformance of RFID enabled tyres?
Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology uses radio waves to passively identify a tagged object. This is useful in tracking the items which are checked out of the library.
ISO 20912 gives you conformance of RFID enabled tyres at minimum reading distance and the performance of the RFID tyre is determined by using a hand-held RFID reader. It gives the semi-anechoic method, which is useful in verifying the maximum reading distance of RFID enabled tyres is greater or equal to the conformance reading distance.
ISO 20912 can be your best guide for conducting the conformance test for RFID enabled tyres which helps you in selecting appropriate RFID tag tyres according to the requirements.
