What is ISO 20927 – Rubber compounding ingredients about?
ISO 20927 provides methods and procedures for determining the aggregate size distribution by disc centrifuge.
ISO 20927 specifies a general method for determining the aggregate size distribution (ASD) silica by using a disc centrifuge according to the principle of sedimentation. As pre-stage, the silica de-agglomerated in water using strong ultrasonic power treatment. The method described in ISO 20927 is used for precipitated silica.
Who is ISO 20927 – Rubber compounding ingredients for?
ISO 20927 on adhesives is relevant to:
- Manufacturers of rubber compounding ingredients
- Chemical Engineer
- Researchers and scientists
- Any entity responsible for testing and quality of compounding ingredients
Why should you use ISO 20927 – Rubber compounding ingredients?
Compounding rubber involves mixing rubbers and rubber additives, such as processing aids, fillers, and curing agents, in definite proportions to achieve a uniform mixture with desirable physical and chemical properties for low-temperature processing.
ISO 20927 defines the aggregate size distribution of silica by disc centrifuge photosedimentometry as a means of describing and specifying these products. It is widely accepted that the aggregate size distribution of silica could impact the performance of these products.
Overall, ISO 20927 is a comprehensive guide to provide methods for determining the aggregate size by disc centrifuge, so users will gain a comprehensive understanding of the quality of rubber compounding ingredients to improve the quality and durability.
