Why should you use ISO 21326 – Efficiency of textiles against house dust mites?
The World Health Organization's (WHO) statement on the correlation of house dust mite to asthma and other allergic disorders resulted in the increased number of textile products treated against house dust mite available to the consumer.
However, the testing method to evaluate the efficacy against house dust mites of textiles has not been standardized to date. This has caused confusion among consumers because of various testing methods and results.
ISO 21326 provides a standardised testing method of the efficacy of products against house dust mites in textiles. ISO 21326 provides you with both test methods that are chemically and physically treated textile products against house dust mites.
The products treated by chemicals against house dust mites in ISO 21326 include three test methods that are repelling method by using petri dish, repelling method by using a glass tube, and Proliferation method by using petri dish and using vial. For the physically treated products, the test method specified in ISO 21326 is the penetration method. ISO 21326 helps you determine the performance of your textiles against house dust mites.
