What is ISO 21446- Determination of trans and total (cis + trans) vitamin K1 content about?
ISO 21446 discusses infant formula and adult nutritional. ISO 21446 is an international standard that provides for the determination of trans and total (cis + trans) vitamin K1 in infant formula using normal phase HPLC.
ISO 21446 specifies a method for the quantitative determination of trans and total (cis + trans) vitamin K1 in infant, paediatric and adult nutritional using normal phase (NP) high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with post-column reduction and fluorescence detection.
The method under ISO 21446 demonstrated good linearity over a standard range of ~2 μg/l to 80 μg/l trans vitamin K1, and the limit of quantification (LOQ) was estimated to be 0,4 μg/l for standards and 0,09 μg/100 g ready to feed (RTF) for samples assuming 4 grams of sample are diluted to 10 ml.
Who is ISO 21446- Determination of trans and total (cis + trans) vitamin K1 content for?
ISO 21446 on the determination of trans and total (cis + trans) vitamin K1 in infant formula is relevant to:
- Food Scientists
- Food laboratories
- Health professionals
Why should you use ISO 21446- Determination of trans and total (cis + trans) vitamin K1 content?
High-performance liquid chromatography or high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) is a chromatographic method used to separate a mixture of compounds in analytical chemistry and biochemistry to identify, quantify or purify the individual components of the mixture.
ISO 21446 provides a method for the determination of trans and total (cis + trans) vitamin K1 in infants, paediatric, and adult nutritional using Normal phase (NP) high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
By adopting ISO 21446 the user can effectively determine the trans and total (cis + trans) vitamin K1 content to develop healthy infant formula and adult nutritional.
