What is ISO 21539 - Ships and marine technology for testing walkways about?
ISO 21539 specifies a test method to assess the performance of walkways using electrical resistance trace heating to provide anti-icing in low-temperature environments when installed for exterior applications.
ISO 21539 includes requirements for the test facility, the test conditions, the test specimens, the test procedures, and the test report.
Who is ISO 21539 - Ships and marine technology for testing walkways for?
ISO 21539 on testing walkways for ships and marine technology is applicable to:
- Shipbuilding industries
- Deck equipment manufacturers
- Shipping and marine industries
- Manufacturers of material and equipment used for walkways
- Testing agencies involved in testing performance of walkways
Why should you use ISO 21539- Ships and marine technology for testing walkways?
A walkway is a heated passage on the deck of ships sailing in low-temperature regions enabling pedestrians to pass more safely by adding heat through a thermal fluid.
ISO 21539 helps quality control personnel in testing walkways using electrical resistance trace heating.
The purpose of the test conducted under ISO 21539 is to evaluate whether the heated equipment can prevent the formation of ice and can operate properly when subjected to low temperature operating conditions.
As a manufacturer, ISO 21539 helps you to design and construct walkways using materials that withstand the foreseeable conditions of use.
