What is ISO 21702- Antiviral activity on plastics about?
ISO 21702 discusses plastics. ISO 21702 specifies proper methods for measuring antiviral activity on plastics and other non-porous surfaces of antiviral-treated products against specified viruses. Due to the individual sensitivities, the results of one test virus might not be applicable for other viruses. ISO 21702 is the test method of antiviral activity on non-porous products. It is written based on ISO 22196 and ISO 18184.
Who is ISO 21702-Antiviral activity on plastics for?
ISO 21702 on antiviral activity on plastics is useful for:
- Plastic manufacturers
- Quality control personnel
- Plastic testing laboratory
Why should you use ISO 21702-Antiviral activity on plastics?
Antibacterial-treated porous and non-porous products have been widely accepted and used among general consumers as their new choices to purchase for the additional function, which is different from what traditional materials had in terms of material protection. ISO 21702 provides you with the methods for measuring antiviral activity on plastic, as antiviral plastic has a coating or other properties that absorb, kill, or prevent the transfer of virus, thus reducing the risk of them propagating.
ISO 21702 provides you with terms and definitions for the functionality to measure the antiviral activity on plastics and other non-porous surfaces. ISO 21702 guides you with the materials and apparatus required for test methods. ISO 21702 guides you with the test preparation, test procedure and expression of results.
ISO 21702 helps you to measure the quality of the antiviral activity on plastics by conducting the test on two special viruses namely Influenza and Calicivirus.
