What is ISO 21755‑1 - SHED test procedure for motorcycles about?
ISO 21755 is a series of international standards on motorcycles that specifies the basic measurement method by using the SHED (Sealed Housing for Evaporative Determination) test procedure for evaporative emissions from motorcycles.
ISO 21755‑1 is the first part of the ISO 21755 series of documents that is applicable to motorcycles equipped with a spark-ignition engine (four-stroke engine, two-stroke engine or rotary piston engine).
Who is ISO 21755‑1 - SHED test procedure for motorcycles for?
ISO 21755‑1 on motorcycles is relevant to:
- Automotive industry
- Manufacturers of motorcycles and mopeds
- Mechanical engineers
- Manufacturers and suppliers of emission measuring instruments
Why should you use ISO 21755‑1 - SHED test procedure for motorcycles?
SHED test is the motorcycle test in a constant temperature sealed house to determine evaporation, in which a special evaporative emission test is conducted.
ISO 21755‑1 provides the description of the SHED test that consists of a conditioning phase and a test phase.
ISO 21755‑1 navigates you through the requirements and the specifications of test motorcycles and test fuel.
Test methods for running-in of evaporative emission control devices and calibration of equipment for evaporative emission testing are specified in ISO 21755‑1 before its initial use.
ISO 21755‑1 shows the format of presentation of results for evaporative emissions.
Overall, ISO 21755-1 could help you with the motorcycle SHED test technique to reduce dangerous hydrocarbon emissions and ensure safe driving in the short and long term. With obedience and compliance to ISO 21755-1, you can achieve precision in terms of product functionality.
