What is ISO 21782‑1 - General test conditions for electric propulsion components about?
ISO 21782 is a series of international standards on electrically propelled road vehicles that discusses the general test conditions and definitions of electric propulsion system components.
ISO 21782‑1 is the first part of the ISO 21782 series of documents that specifies the test procedures for performance and operating load for voltage class B electric propulsion components (motor, inverter, DC/DC converter) and their combinations (motor system) of electrically propelled road vehicles.
Who is ISO 21782‑1 - General test conditions for electric propulsion components for?
ISO 21782‑1 on electric road vehicles is useful for:
- Designers and manufacturers of electric road vehicles
- Electrical and mechanical engineers
- Manufacturers of electric propulsion components
Why should you use ISO 21782‑1 - General test conditions for electric propulsion components?
An electrically propelled road vehicle is one that operates on an electric motor, instead of an internal-combustion engine that generates power by burning a mix of fuel and gases.
ISO 21782‑1 specifies the general test conditions by defining the operating points and provides provision for current, voltage and power measurement.
ISO 21782‑1 navigates you through the DC input voltage rate of ±2 % of the rated component or system along with the temperature and humidity.
ISO 21782‑1 provides the measurement of parameters that is to be conducted with an accuracy that includes current, voltage, torque, motor speed, temperature and relative humidity.
Overall, ISO 21782‑1 assist you in manufacturing high-quality voltage class B electric propulsion components to generate sufficient power to run the vehicle which will enable you to compare and evaluate the performance and reliability of motor, inverter, DC/DC converter and their combinations (motor system). With obedience and compliance to ISO 21782‑1, you can achieve precision in terms of product functionality.
