What is ISO 21782-2 - Performance test of the motor system about?
ISO 21782 is a series of international standards on electrically-propelled road vehicles that gives the performance test of electric vehicle’s motor.
ISO 21782-2 is the second part of the ISO 21782 series of documents that specifies the performance tests for the motor system designed as a voltage class B electric propulsion system for electrically propelled road vehicles.
Who is ISO 21782-2 - Performance test of the motor system for?
ISO 21782-2 on performance test of electric road vehicles is useful for:
- Designers and manufacturers of electric road vehicles
- Manufacturers of the electric vehicle motor
- Electrical and mechanical engineers
- Manufacturers of electric propulsion components
Why should you use ISO 21782-2 - Performance test of the motor system?
An electrically propelled road vehicle is one that operates on an electric motor, instead of an internal-combustion engine that generates power by burning a mix of fuel and gases.
ISO 21782-2 provides the test methods for the measurement of total loss and total efficiency between the input power of the inverter and the output power of the motor.
ISO 21782-2 specifies the conditions for the total loss and total efficiency test of the motor system.
ISO 21782-2 provides the test that investigates the temperature rise characteristics of each part of the motor system within the specified range.
ISO 21782-2 showcases the test procedure and conditions to measure the torque characteristics and torque ripple specified in the specifications of the motor system.
Overall, ISO 21782-2 assists you with the performance testing of the motor system that reveals hidden problems and prevent unnecessary failure in the vehicle and evaluates static parameters like insulation, wire damage and electrical current leakage, as well as more dynamic parameters such as distortion, temperature fluctuations and balance. With obedience and compliance to ISO 21782-2, you can achieve precision in terms of product functionality.
