What is ISO 21782‑3 - Performance test of the motor and the inverter about?
ISO 21782 is a series of international standards on electrically propelled road vehicles that discusses the performance test of motor and inverters.
ISO 21782‑3 is the third part of the series of documents that specifies performance tests for the motor and the inverter designed as a voltage class B electric propulsion system for electrically propelled road vehicles.
Who is ISO 21782‑3 - Performance test of the motor and the inverter for?
ISO 21782-3 on performance test of electric road vehicles motor and inverter is useful for:
- Designers and manufacturers of electric road vehicles
- Manufacturers of electric vehicle motor and inverter
- Electrical and mechanical engineers
- Manufacturers of electric propulsion components
Why should you use ISO 21782‑3 - Performance test of the motor and the inverter?
An electrically propelled road vehicle is one that operates on an electric motor, instead of an internal-combustion engine that generates power by burning a mix of fuel and gases.
ISO 21782-3 provides the test methods and conditions for the measurement of total loss and total efficiency to operate the motor under the specified operating conditions.
ISO 21782-3 specifies the test procedure and condition to operate the motor providing temperature rise test and torque characteristics.
ISO 21782-3 navigates you through the test methods and conditions for the measurement of loss, efficiency and conversion rate to operate the inverter under the specified conditions.
The test procedure and conditions to operate the inverter and chopper under specified temperature rise test and chopper test is provided in ISO 21782-3.
Moreover, ISO 21782-3 could help you design motor and the inverter of electric vehicles ensuring performance testing to prevent unnecessary failure and supplying current to the battery pack for recharging and provides electricity to motor for vehicle propulsion. With obedience and compliance to ISO 21782-3, you can achieve precision in terms of product functionality.
