What is ISO 21809-11 - External coatings for buried or submerged pipelines used in pipelines for petroleum and natural gas industries about ?
ISO 21809 discusses petroleum and natural gas industries. ISO 21809-11 is the eleventh part of ISO 21809 and discusses external coatings for buried or submerged pipelines used in pipelines for petroleum and natural gas industries. ISO 21809-11 specifies the criteria and requirements for the in-field application of coatings, coating repair and coating rehabilitation on buried pipelines.
ISO 21809-11 specifies:
- Coating assessment
- Removal of degraded coatings
- Surface preparation
- On-site or in site application of external coatings
ISO 21809-11 states qualification/testing for field contractors and site applied coatings to all of the pipeline components, including bends, tees, fittings, valves and interfaces between different coatings in soil-to-air pipeline sections. ISO 21809-11 is applicable to petroleum or natural gas pipelines, with or without a cathodic protection system.
Note: ISO 21809-11 excludes the application of coatings when the pipeline is immersed.
Who is ISO 21809-11 - External coatings for buried or submerged pipelines used in pipelines for petroleum and natural gas industries for ?
ISO 21809-11 on external coatings for buried or submerged pipelines used in pipelines for petroleum and natural gas industries is useful for:
- Field contractors
- Civil engineers
- Petroleum and natural gas manufacturers
- Steel pipe manufacturers
- Paint manufacturers
- Pipeline welders
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use ISO 21809-11 - External coatings for buried or submerged pipelines used in pipelines for petroleum and natural gas industries ?
The petroleum and natural gas industries are one of the biggest sectors in the world. The coatings are intended for corrosion protection of steel structures of oil and gas and petrochemical industries, including refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants, gas plants, and oil exploration and production units.
ISO 21809-11 provides you with the technical requirements for corrosion protection by the coating of external surfaces of carbon steel pipes that are used in the oil and gas industry and have the need for a coating replacement or repair to be performed on-site.
ISO 21809-11 also provides you with technical guidance for developing project specifications and ensuring conformance in coating material selection and performance with contract requirements. ISO 21809-11 helps you by providing guidance in material selection to prevent corrosion on steel pipes.
