What is ISO 21901 about?
ISO 21901 specifies a periodic heat method for measurement of the thermal diffusivity of thermal insulation material in the shape of a flat plate.
ISO 21901 gives technical specifications such as terms, definitions, symbols, principle, test specimens, apparatus, procedure, and test report for testing the thermal diffusivity of thermal insulation.
Who is ISO 21901 for?
ISO 21901 on thermal diffusivity of thermal insulation is relevant to:
- Companies dealing with thermal insulation
- Manufacturing companies of thermal insulators
- Suppliers and distributors for thermal insulators
Why should you use ISO 21901?
The process of insulating material from transferring heat between the materials which are present in thermal contact, is known as Thermal insulation. Thermal diffusivity explains how well a material can spread heat. It’s often measured with the flash method (LPA).
ISO 21901 provides a measurement device which is composed of three units, namely periodic heater, low-temperature heater with water cooling pump and atmospheric furnace, which helps you in investigating the thermal diffusivity and reduces errors while deciding thermal insulation in a standardized manner.
