What's changed?

Key changes from the previous edition (PD ISO/TS 22002-1:2009) include:

• The standard has been ‘upgraded’ from a technical specification to a full international standard, reflecting broader consensus and formalization.Refined scope: The new edition applies exclusively to food manufacturing, whereas the 2009 version had a more general scope across the food chain.
• Separation of common requirements: Common PRP requirements are now housed in BS ISO 22002-100, which must be used in conjunction with this document. This modular structure improves clarity and consistency across different sectors of the food chain.
• Alignment with ISO 22000: BS ISO 22002-100 is designed to work in conjunction with ISO 22000, not duplicate it. It supports organizations in meeting ISO 22000’s requirements by detailing the operational conditions necessary for food safety.
• Technical revisions: The document includes updated practices and terminology to reflect current industry standards, regulatory expectations, and technological advancements.
