What is ISO 22013 about?
ISO 22013 discusses standards for marine environment sensor performance, specifications, testing, and reporting. ISO 22013 specifies terms, specifies test methods, and provides reporting requirements for marine sensor specifications to ensure consistent reporting by manufacturers.
ISO 22013 is applicable to those devices known as conductivity-temperature-depth (CTDs), sound velocity probes, multi-parameter sondes, and dissolved gas sensors, that measure parameters such as conductivity, temperature, pressure, sound speed, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, pH, and chlorophyll in seawater.
ISO 22013 is also generally applicable to all marine environment instruments.
Who is ISO 22013 for?
ISO 22013 on marine environment sensor performance is applicable to these entities:
- Manufacturers of marine sensors
- Ship and marine industries
- Maritime manufacturers
- Laboratories involved in the inspection of the marine sensors
- Quality control personnel for the marine sensors
Why should you use ISO 22013?
ISO 22013 establishes a set of performance specifications for all marine environment sensors, including terms, definitions and test methods.
ISO 22013 provides you with the test methods to determine sensor specifications for a specific sensor model and also specifies experimental design requirements common to all test methods.
The guidelines provided in ISO 22013 helps you in determining the accuracy, resolution, response time of marine sensors.
ISO 22013 walks you through the calibration methodology for the marine environment. In addition to this calibrated range, maximum range and measuring range are discussed in ISO 22013.
ISO 22013 provides you with publication requirements to publish required design specifications for a sensor model by using data sheets.
