What is ISO 22157 - The physical and mechanical properties of bamboo culms about ?
ISO 22157 discusses the physical and mechanical properties of bamboo culms used for bamboo structures. ISO 22157 specifies test procedures for specimens obtained from round bamboo culms. The data obtained from the test methods can be used to establish characteristic physical or mechanical properties to be used in structural engineering design or for other scientific purposes.
ISO 22157 is organized to provide requirements for standardized tests to be carried out to determine the material properties of full-culm bamboo as a structural material. The test methods reported in ISO 22157 are intended for commercial testing applications.
The test methods reported in ISO 22157 are intended for commercial testing applications and can also be adopted as benchmark methods for scientific research.
Who is BS ISO 22157 - The physical and mechanical properties of bamboo culms for ?
ISO 22157 on Determination of the physical and mechanical properties of bamboo culms is useful for:
- Building and construction companies
- Engineers
- Testing laboratories and testing engineers
- Commercial testing laboratories
- Researchers
Why should you use ISO 22157 - The physical and mechanical properties of bamboo culms ?
Bamboo as a building material has high compressive strength and low weight has been one of the most used building materials as support for concrete, especially in those locations where it is found in abundance. Bamboo as a building material is used for the construction of scaffolding, bridges and structures, houses.
ISO 22157 provides you with methods for evaluating the following physical and strength properties: moisture content, density, mass per unit length; strength properties parallel to the fibre direction, compression, tension and bending, and strength properties perpendicular to the fibre direction, tension and bending. ISO 22157 also provides methods to estimate moduli of elasticity in bending, compression, and tension parallel to fibres, and bending perpendicular to fibres. ISO 22157 helps you in determining the durability of bamboo culms.
